Arrowhead 135 A.K.A Charly Tri is a Crazy MAN!
One of my favorite friends within the Mountain Bike community is lining up at the Arrowhead 135 tomorrow at 7 am. He is known for some other feats of madness mostly in the enduro freak category. Just so you know “enduro freak” Category is the endurance class above any other endurance class that can be conceived of, that is where is he likes to roam.
Self-supported 135 miles at the Northern most part of Minnesota on January 31st! According to his latest update it is suppose to be negative 15 degrees at the start. I just want to give a shout out and maybe even a prayer
to Charly Tri in his efforts tomorrow. Details on the race can be found here. Look to the right in my blog roll for his updates and race report I assume. Check point updates are here.
Good Luck Bro and confident in you making the finish line this year!

Ambush Convertible Pants

Cory Leclerc in the Race Face Ambush Convertible Pants
The Race Face Ambush Pants will be just as at home in the bike park as it will be in the saddle all day on your AM adventures. Start early in the morning while it’s still crisp out, and unzip the lower pant legs once the day heats up or leave them full length if Mother Nature simply does not want to co-operate with your plans. The Ambush pants easily convert to be whatever you need them to be. The 3-ply, soft-hand, textured fabric is highly durable due to its 12% Nylon (88% Polyester) content and Herringbone Twill weave. Outer fabric is DWR treated (8,000mm water-proof rating / 3,000g/m2 breathability rating), bonded to a water/wind resistant film and soft mesh inner layer for wicking and comfort. Belt loops and inner waist adjustments mean that you’re guaranteed to make the pants fit right. Thigh vents to keep your legs cool when needed, as well as a hidden lumbar vent. The Race Face Ambush is ready for all conditions. (continue reading…)

Race Face Deus Gloves
The Race Face Deus Gloves ventilate really well thanks to the stretch mesh that is used on the fingers and back or your hands. Added padding in the palms is the only extra you’ll find on these minimalist approach, high performance gloves. The thumb is covered in terry cloth to make wiping your nose or brow soft feeling. The crotch of the thumb is also re-enforced to add to the longevity of the gloves. Sizing to fit almost anyone and four colorways means that you should be able to find one that matches your daily riding kit. Slip on style equals no Velcro closures to deal with thus giving you a consistent feel at the wrist.

The Race Face Ignite Jersey is a mid weight top that can be layered or worn on its own to keep the rider insulated on cool days. Its moisture wicking characteristics keep you dry when you’re working hard on the climbs and long days in the woods. It can be worn inside out due to its reversible print and design, and the small stash pocket allows you to carry your keys, or a multi tool easily and the zipper helps to prevent loss. The taller neck keeps you warm and the longer cut at the rear aids to keep dirt and debris from going down the back of your pants. The Ignite Jersey is available in two colors: Black and Slate.

Kindle Jersey Review

The Kindle, a long-sleeve winter jersey, is shockingly breathable for its comfort and cozy feel – intelligence with a softer side. The inner polyester layer wicks moisture to the outer nylon layer where it can evaporate, keeping sweat away. Meshing along the upper back offers venting. Throughout, you can feel the cool breeze enter as you ride. I wear it as a solo layer pushing up the mountain, and throw on another layer for the brisk ride down.

Kelly Jacket Review
#2 of 3 in the article at Pinkbike: Race Face Ladies Fall / Winter Riding Gear by Adrienne Schofhauser – view the article here

The Kelly is a waterproof shell designed to protect against the harsh elements. It offers that luxurious freedom to get out and go in icy temps and rain. It’s 2.5-ply soft hand Polyester, and is rated 10,000mm/10,000mm water resistance/breathability thanks to its DWR (durable water repellent) laminate. Seam-sealed zippers keep the water out. Its hood is large, adjustable and slightly brimmed.

Piper Jacket Review
Adrienne Schofhauser reviews the Piper Jacket over at Pinkbike: Read the article here

Piper Jacket
“The fusion of high performance and fashion continues to define Race Face’s “For Her” apparel line. And with winter here, ladies looking for gear to get them out despite the nasty conditions should check out the line’s Fall/Winter collection for pieces that deliver that hardcore mentality with a sense of style.
I found three – a versatile soft shell (The Piper), an ultra waterproof shell (The Kelly), and a breathable long-sleeve jersey (The Kindle) – that’ll get you out in the elements, keep you out there, and find you in them long after the bikes are cleaned and put away.
