Towards the end of the season I found out that two good friends of mine Brett Rheeder and Brendan Howey had both been invited to this years Rampage. I was invited to go along for the trip to dig at Rampage and then go shoot in Green River, along with Mike Zinger Nic Genovese and Aaron Laroque. Knowing that I soon want to compete in this contest more than anything I couldnt pass the opportunity up. Going down there and seeing the lay of the land and how the dirt works definitely gives me confidence on what I can do there in years to come. We spent a total of 9 days in Hurricane driving back and forth to the site sunrise and sunset getting in as much digging and practice as possible. We also got to get a few sessions in at the old Rampage site which was super sick.
Brett and Howey rode super solid all week and it was a super sick time. After the contest had ended we packed up and made the drive to Green River where we stayed for a week. We spent the first little while scouting and every last second we could digging lines and chasing banger light. Miscommunication on what was going to happen in Green River left me with the short end of the stick and not being able to film that much. I stayed positive and found some super gnarly natural lines and got some really rad photos with my new Atlas and SixC components. One of the photos we were all super stoked on and Zinger entered it in the photo of the year contest and as I found out today lots of other people were stoked too! The photo has been nominated and is in the running, so if your sweet you should help us out and vote! http://www.pinkbike.com/news/2012-Photo-of-the-Year-Starts-Now-32-Photos-Selected.html
