Best riding spot ever?
BOOTLEG CANYON
When you’re not riding you are?
being happy with my amazing daughter promoting races at Bootleg Canyon playing my cello working at a wine bar listening to some cool beats and enjoying the greener grasses of life
What would you like to see more of in mountain biking?
I’d like to see an attitude adjustment. We all laugh at novices pedaling around with a kickstand and crooked helmet-but that “rider” is on two wheels and not on their couch. PROPS to anyone on two wheels, and unity amongst all bikers.
What was your first bike like?
Purple wheels, banana seat, tassles…it was sick. First real bike was an ironhorse sinister…(replaced my taco’d Walmart frame)
Do you have any new projects/trips coming up?
Just put on Screamin Santa Double Down Races, and now planning for THE NEW MOB! 2/13-14/2010 Dual Slalom, Super D, Downhill Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, Nv. I’ll be racing my new Mountain Cycle Shockwave 9.5 at Fontana on 1/9/10, PIMPED w/ RaceFace Red Atlas FR set…
Can you tell us something not many people know about you?
I’ve never been predisposed athletically in any way until I started riding. Made baskets for the other team and generally sucked…kinda clumsy if I’m on two feet, much better on two wheels.
Last book you read?
This Side of Paradise- F.Scott Fitzgerald (for the 3rd time-its a good book to read when life throws an obstacle that your bike can’t get around.)
If you have an alter ego, what is its name?
FRANCINATOR (thanks Brent Thomson!)
What did you do last weekend?
I shredded the most EPIC trail ever!! Actually takes the first place on my favorite trail ever list- “JUST OUTSTANDING” is the name. It’s a 30 mile downhill (with 2 climbs-but not one hike a bike- not one- for 30 miles!) and this trail has everything for everyone. One section you’re ripping through tight manzanita tunnels and suddenly you explode on to a huge granite slab 60 ft+ chute into a tiny singletrack that rips along to a variety of stunts, gaps and huge hits! The dirt is like a soft peat that just caresses your tires all the way down! The views are incredible, as you start at nearly 8000 ft elevation and end up towards 3000 ft. Thank you to Bionicon for hooking up an awesome weekend of shuttling and riding in their local haunts of Kernville.
Worst situation you’ve ever been in?
I’ve been in a few sticky situations, but the most acute situation would be thinking my suv could handle a snowed over dirt road in the San Rafael Swell in Utah. It was just me and my boyfriend at the time, and (this is seriously the middle of NOwhere) had to hike back to the highway and hitchike to Green River. One car passed us the entire day, and that car picked us up. Lucky I guess. Come to think of it, I’ve had my suv rescued more than two or three times. It was also a pretty bad situation when I broke my collarbone on Bootleg’s DH trails. I wasn’t riding alone, but I had let everyone go ahead of me. DO NOT GO LEFT on the shelf drop. The worst part was shuffling down the steep g-outs trying not to move my shoulder. It also sucks to take off your helmet and gear once broken.
What would your ideal day consist of?
Strong espresso in the morning, a laugh from my daughter and a hug that melts me, some good news mid-day, a ride with no company followed by a ride with company. Finish up the evening with a kiss from my little girl, glass of red wine, session, music, some friends.

3 mags you read?
DECLINE BIKE MAG MBA
3 videos you enjoy?

3 websites you frequent?

3 gadgets you can't live without?
caffeine (not a gadget but espresso..) music (not a gadget, but…) humor (not a gadget, but makes everything better)

3 new trends?

Tomorrow I will be...?
happy as I am today, maybe happier
I've never...?
let myself be unhappy
I'd like...?
to win every race I enter and put on kickass events for others to win.
Next year...?
I will be hooking up a WALKER 3000 as I will be 30 years old. I will seek sponsorship from such companies as hoveround….get myself to the Grand Canyon.
I think having a blog is...?
a good thing-especially here;)
Life is...?
Life is for feelings. Whatever they are, they exist and bottom line is they are all that matters. Feeling good is the point of life. There, no need for philosophy 101.
Any wisdom or last words?
Some first words: Kill it to keep it alive!
