Out there working with Chris Christie always gets results. This was taken in Squamish during the summer.

What-Biking-UK_Peru

Last year we hit up Peru with a great crew of guys and landed 4 stories around the world. This year, next week in fact we are headed down to explore Chile, followed by a week in Maui at Ryder Hesjedals Training camp, busy winter.

Summer ain’t over it just moved to a different country.

Cheers

John Mac & the guys at United Cycle kindly invited us out to Edmonton for their annual Bike Expo last weekend. Tippie & I decided to kill two birds with one stone & visit some Race Face dealers whilst we were out there…

End of the season

I finished off the year at Kicking Horse mtn for the BC Cup finals.   It wasn’t a great end to the season, because I crashed in my race run,  but it was a very fun course and I had loads of fun riding the mountain for the few days I was there.   I placed 9th, which  I wasn’t too pleased with because it bumped me out of third overall and into 4th overall for the BC Cup series in U17.

The 2010 race season was pretty good overall.   I would have liked to have done better in the overall for the BC Cup series, but I had a few bad races that put me down in points.   I did have some bad races, but I also accomplished one of my goals which was too race at the Canadian National Championships with the Cycling BC team.   My trip to the Nationals and Canada Cup was definitely the highlight of my summer,  it was really fun to ride and stay with the BC team up at panorama for two weeks.

Here are a few pictures from the Nationals/Canada Cup by Dave Hord.  Cheers to a great season of riding and racing.

Memories of Summer…

As I find myself continually sitting on the couch watching the world go by, I reflect on one of the best years riding thus far.

Waiting for instruction from Todd on what to do next. Photo Todd Hellinga

Do I say that each year? Yep… and it just re-enforces that riding is something that I am going to continue doing once my leg heals. I have about two weeks until I can put weight on it and then I have to get the strength back on it before I can ride again. Time is all I need…

The following are some shots from a 3 day trip I took with Todd Hellinga and Seb Kemp, stopping in Lillooet, Sun Peaks and Silver Star. The trip culminated with NSMB Airprentice in Silver Star.

This is a lot steeper than it looks. And much less smooth than we had originally thought. Photo Todd Hellinga

Some rare tacky berm action at Sun Peaks. Sun Peaks is one of my favorite places to ride. Photo Todd Hellinga

Going to try and get back on my game to spend the closing weekend in Whistler. I just got wind that Dirt Merchant is being re-worked, and I want to be able to throw some laps in.

Cheers!

Trail Progress… “EH Line”

“eh Line… eh?”

wanted to share with you some progress on ONE of the trails I’m working on in Nelson. I call it “EH Line” and no it’s nothing like “A Line” in Whistler. It’s not finished but I’ve put some cool things on it and have hit all of it so far, super fun. The plan for when it is finished is to preserve the gnarl factor but also make it friendly for most skill levels. lots of alternate lines. I like to call them “Girlfriend Lines”

So far this is the top, but not the start…

Nice berm,

Crosses a creek to another railing berm,

Shooting with Aaron Laroque and Sterling Lorence

I went over to Victoria this past weekend to film for a new web video and get some photos. Saturday was perfect weather but it rained all day Sunday. So in an effort to be productive we rode some street at the University of Victoria. Here is a sequence shot in the rain by Sterling Lorence. Enjoy!

Good-Bye 2009

I put a small piece together with the help of some of my friends behind the lense on just how amazing 2009 was for me.

Christmas Gifts…

As 2009 winds down, and most riders minds have tuned to the “snowy” channel, I can’t seem to shake the need to get out on my bike. What is not helping is all the goods that are landing in my hands.

New Cranks, grips and chain rings... so when is the snow going to melt.

In lue of the Raceface sixC bits, coming soon I am told, I grabbed a pair of the Atlas Freeride cranks for my bike. These bad boys should hold me over until they arrive.

Enough with this gear talk and to prove that I did in fact get out and throw some laps, good friend Curtis Robinson and I headed out for some pre-Christmas hot laps of the local trails.

Wating in the rain as Nina snapped the picture. Rain left on the lense for dramatic affect.

Once I have my new wheels and a few other things I will be sure to post up some pictures of the ride.

Hope everyone has a great New Years!

Cheers!

It’s been a while…

OK, so sorry I haven’t been contributing to the blog. No I didn’t forget my job. Just been scoping, building, filming, and playing in the mountains. Just now up in Williams Lake,  I like to call it the puddle. STUND season 2 is starting up and we’re having a great time up here in the North country of BC.  Lots of content to come. Other than that, Tam Forde and I have been gearing up and shooting some of my trail in Nelson. Brad Walton gave me an idea of a name for it and I think it will fit well. Calling it “Eh Line”. So sick!

While Sam and Brad were in Nelson, we rode some epicness! Baldface one day was sick, beautiful singletrack and almost perfect conditions. I would say it was a 40cm day. Thanks for the Lift Jeff! That evening was time to get some big hip action in off a quarter pipe style jump I built except with a rock transition. Went down once and hurt my wing but the shot looks cool. Sorry Metzger but I didn’t get my knees in on the table. It’s hard to do that off this jump. Brad will have the photos up to show everyone soon. Cheers!
