Riding Highs and Lows

I flew back to Canada in late June. In my first week back I met with the guys at Race Face, rode with the Camp of Champions in Whistler and made it to Vancouver Island to hang out with the guys at Straitline.

Once I got back to Fernie I got my Wildcard built up with parts I smuggled over from Taiwan. It was going to be my back up bike for the summer but after a couple of rides on it I was not sure I would be able to put it second.

Once I had my Scythe finished it was not hard to put my Wildcard into the basement. Just based on the look of my Scythe I was in love. After my first ride on my new bike I was hooked. After the first couple of rides my face was sore from the permanent smile I had while riding.

Christmas Gifts…

As 2009 winds down, and most riders minds have tuned to the “snowy” channel, I can’t seem to shake the need to get out on my bike. What is not helping is all the goods that are landing in my hands.

New Cranks, grips and chain rings... so when is the snow going to melt.

New Cranks, grips and chain rings... so when is the snow going to melt.

In lue of the Raceface sixC bits, coming soon I am told, I grabbed a pair of the Atlas Freeride cranks for my bike. These bad boys should hold me over until they arrive.

Enough with this gear talk and to prove that I did in fact get out and throw some laps, good friend Curtis Robinson and I headed out for some pre-Christmas hot laps of the local trails.

Wating in the rain as Nina snapped the picture. Rain left on the lense for dramatic affect.

Once I have my new wheels and a few other things I will be sure to post up some pictures of the ride.

Hope everyone has a great New Years!

Cheers!

December Riding

At this time of year in Vancouver you’ve got to take any opportunity you can to get out on your bike…

Saturday brought chilly temperatures, but bluebird skies – time for a ride.

We packed up the cars & headed up the Sea to Sky highway to the self proclaimed outdoor adventure capital of Canada – Squamish. The plan was to ride an XC loop in the morning, followed by a shuttle lap in the afternoon – the perfect opportunity to test out Race Face’s new SIXC carbon all mountain cranks & bar.
