Welcome to Estonia

Hello
My name is Triinu and I come from a little country in Northern part of Europe, Estonia.
In summer we have +30 and in winter there is -30 degrees. So you might say, that this is quite interesting place to live.

Sadly we do not have mountains like Whistler, but we have our own kind of lifestyle and biking. If you are interested about Estonia, and you want to see how things work in Baltic States, please take the time to see the video with my interview in the end :

Breafly about me. I started to race Downhill in 2009 and since I learned to love it and today I can not imagine my life without biking.

Last, 2011 season was a bit unfortunate for me, because I got injured in June, could not ride for whole 1,5 months. Then I started with my recovery, but got in another accident with my bike in Switserland and was “down” again. So in the end of 2011 I started to have little by little some biking sessions, but then – the winter came..
So today I pretty much dont want to step my foot outside, because there is around -23 degrees.. brrrr But hey, the

2012 started quiet well for me, because all the sponsorship deals and only thing I have still open mind with, is the bike im going to ride with this season :)
In the end, I want to apologize for my English, because this is not my “everyday language” and want to say: `Jällenägemiseni!`

Building a play ground

During the summer, a really good friend of mine, Dave, approached about building in his yard.  He knew that I would need a place of my own to ride when ever if I was to continue to compete with the best in the world and be in constant contention at contests.

He had a spot in mind. He said,  ’It was in the trees, the dirt was amazing to dig with and there was already a rolling built.  Oh and there is a tractor to dig with.  It would have been a really hard proposition to say no too.  He is cool with me building what ever I want.  Only thing he wanted was a smaller set of tables in order to learn and progress on as he would probably not be comfortable on riding the lines I built at first.

Construction started in the middle of October.  The location has a slight grade to it making it perfect.

When we started to dig, the ground was incredibly dry.  Just like moon dust.  Reminded me of Kelowna or Kamloops.  After day of piling we had a lot accomplished.  The landing were piled for the first two jumps in the big set, as well as the two smaller jumps to the right.

Since then the rain has made the dirt much easier to work with and everything is packing in really nicely.
