We put our riders first.
From our earliest days of riding on the North Shore, it’s a promise we’ve kept for almost thirty years.
That meant building the highest quality products that can withstand the rigours of modern-day mountain biking (as well as old-school jank, if that’s your thing). It also meant standing by our riders if something went wrong with our products.
Processing a warranty can disrupt your season. It always seems to drag on far longer than it needs to and can be a huge pain in the butt. But it doesn’t have to be that way. From now on, we’re covering pretty much all our hard goods under a comprehensive Lifetime Warranty. Crashes Included.
Yes. We said Crashes Included.
As much as it hurts to say, crashes are a part of mountain biking. So why aren’t more bike brands covering their gear against crashes? We do. Break a Race Face part while riding and we’ll ship you a fresh part. For free.
Neat, huh?
A note on what types of “crashes” are included; it only covers crashes while riding your bike. If you drive into a low-clearance parkade with your bike on the roof rack, that’s on you. No intentional destruction either, please. Take care of your stuff the best you can, and we’ll take care of you.
What’s the deal?
Our Lifetime Warranty now covers the bulk of our hard goods including: Wheels, Pedals, Handlebars, Stems, Cranks, Chainrings and Static (non-actuated) seat posts.
Basically, if you see the Lifetime Warranty marker on a product page of our website, that product is covered.
All our dropper posts, apparel, protection, grips, bottom bracket bearings and tailgate pads will continue to be covered under our Limited Warranty. This is because some products aren’t made to endure anyone’s lifetime (like gloves or pads) or they require regular servicing to stay in good working order (like droppers). Of course, if you have any issues with Limited Warranty products, get in touch and we’ll do everything we can to get you back on the trails.
Make a Claim. Avoid the BS.
No more red tape runarounds or excruciatingly long wait times for a decision on your warranty claim. We’re here to help. You can start your claim through the bike shop or online retailer that sold you the product or go directly through us. Whichever way is quickest and easiest for you to get back on your bike.
FAQs
Why aren’t you covering crashes on all RF products?
When we decided to launch our Lifetime Warranty program inclusive of crashes, we had to do what made sense. Jerseys, shorts and pads aren’t built to the same crash-proof durability as the metal found in our Atlas pedals, for example. Who wants to ride around in aluminum shorts anyway?
Another product line that we’re keeping to our Limited Warranty is Dropper posts. Droppers have many, many moving parts inside and like suspension, those moving parts require servicing to keep the dropper functioning properly. And while we won’t leave you high and dry, we hope you’ll keep your dropper lowered as you send it down that gnarly rock face and check it in for its scheduled maintenance.
What does “Lifetime” mean anyway?
Like most “lifetime" terminologies, the Lifetime Warranty won’t cover parts all the way into your e-biking Golden Years. Lifetime means the expected usable life of our products being ridden regularly. We can’t cover the original Turbine Cranks from your 1993 Rocky Mountain Ti Bolt, for example. We think that’s still pretty good.
I ride my bike A LOT. What about wear and tear on parts?
Our Lifetime Warranty does not apply to the slow wear and tear that mountain bike components are subject to. Some examples of this wear and tear are the bearings in your hubs and bottom bracket, worn chainring teeth or visible dings/flat spots in aluminum rims. If your parts are scratched up and still function as intended, the Lifetime Warranty is not applicable. Keep riding!
We also don’t cover improper installation or repairs. Please don’t attempt repairs unless you have the required tools and skills, which you can find at your local bike shop.
What if I bought my RF product from some dude on Craigslist?
While it would be fun to cover all owners over the course of our products’ existence, it’s unfortunately not realistic. That said, if you have secondhand RF stuff on your bike that’s not functioning properly anymore, get in touch and we’ll do what we can.
What if my new bike came with RF parts on it?
Whether you bought a new bike specced with our products or decided to upgrade some key parts later, all components under our new Lifetime Warranty are covered, crashes included.
So, I was Just Riding Along when...
Yep, we’ve heard that one before. Rather than nitpick the circumstances around your Race Face components getting FUBARed, we’ve decided to make legit crashes a part of our Lifetime Warranty program. That doesn’t mean you can reverse your truck over your new carbon wheels and expect a free replacement. But those same wheels are covered for every bike riding scenario. If you’re feeling the send, let ‘er rip. Our gear can take it.
For everything else, there’s Limited Warranty
All our apparel, protection, grips, bottom brackets, tailgate pads and discontinued products are covered under our Limited Warranty program. This covers defects in workmanship and materials as the result of the product’s intended use for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. The Limited Warranty on dropper posts is one (1) year from the date of purchase in North America and two (2) years from the date of purchase in Europe. The Limited Warranty does not cover defects caused by third-party modifications, repairs, or replacement parts, nor does it cover scratches, normal wear and tear, and the natural breakdown of materials over extended time and use.
The Limited Warranty does not include crashes. However, should a product covered under the Limited Warranty not function properly after a crash, contact us and we’ll assess if your part qualifies for a replacement at a discounted rate.
In countries such as Germany that have laws restricting the usage of a Lifetime Warranty statement or require an explicit warranty term, the Race Face Lifetime warranty including crashes has a warranty term of 10 years.
For products not covered by the Race Face Lifetime Warranty crashes included, those products are covered by the Race Face Limited warranty for a period of two (2) years or the minimum requirement of the country where the product was purchased, whichever is longer.
